Finger (index on the left hand) is Bessie's closest friend and confidant. Whenever Bessie needs worldly advice, she seeks Finger's perspective on the matter. First thing every morning (no exceptions!), Bessie draws a smiley face on Finger. And before bed, she washes off his "awake" face to replace it with his "asleep" face. He may just be an imaginary friend, but sometimes Finger seems to have a mind of his own...
